Strange Windows 7 freeze

I am familiar that two anti-virus program can cause problems. But I guessed because MSE is so light-weight it wouldn't for me. In any case, perhaps they are indeed responsible for my blue screens so I have now removed MSE.

The adware is now also removed, I hadn't scanned for it before because I never really notice it but just for good measures - it is gone now. :)

I also included 6 dump files with this post. Your help is much appreciated.

Can't Get Rid of Program Possible Virus? Malware?

Hi all
I have this program called Hi-Rez Studios and diagnostics on my computer, it was part of a game I downloaded.
I am trying to get rid of the game and this program, the game is called Smite, anyways it will not let me uninstall the dang thing.

If I try to uninstall, it either freezes my whole computer so I can't even open a browser window, or restart my computer except by turning it off at the back.
Or it will tell me I have don't have administration rights to uninstall it.

I have tried just uninstalling the game, but same thing

I have tried system restore, but it won't restore my computer to a earlier time.

Here is the info u asked for:

If ESET scan is clean run the following to clean up:

Download "Delfix by Xplode" and save it to your desktop.

"Delfix link mirror"

Double Click to start the program. If you are using Vista or higher, please right-click and choose run as administrator

Make Sure the following items are checked:
  • Activate UAC
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Create registry backup
  • Purge System Restore
  • Reset system settings

Now click on "Run" and wait patiently until the tool has completed.

The tool will create a log when it has completed. We don't need you to post this.

Part of the routine will be to create a registry back up with ERUNT, the back up will be created here:

C:\Windows\ERUNT

When all is known to be well with your system you can delete that back up folder if you consider it as not needed...

Read the following link to fully understand PC security and best practices, you may find it useful....

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/foru.../#entry2316629

If all is well with your system hit the "Mark Solved" tab at the top of the thread...

Take care and surf safe,

M...LOCKER/Personal file is this a virus

When looking for a file that keeps opening in Excel though I am certain I wrote it in Word, I found, under DATA M which stores most of my word documents, a folder marked LOCKER which only has one file in it. This is named Personal Info and says it requires a password to open it. The file was supposedly created in January 2014. I checked my list of passwords (which I do not keep on the computer) and there is no sign of a password for this. So I have not started this and forgotten I did. (I am 80 yrs old and occasionally have senior moments !)

Can I just delete it ? Would it have anything to do with the Crypto-Locker virus ?

Would be grateful if someone could set my mind at rest.

I have contracted this virus in the past week with its annoying pop-ups which have to be deleted every time. I think this is not a new virus but there is very little information about it on the net. It seems to quite a dangerous virus which steals personal information and compromises your computer's security. I have had a possible solution, probably due to my naivety on the subject, if I had the virus for a week, could I 'regress' my computer two weeks into the past and thus avoid the infection? As you say, there are no stupid questions so hope you enjoy my theory!
I have been a life long AOL advocate (with my computer) but this year has been the worst for its reliability, speed and non acceptance of certain web sites and forums. Even this forum does not function with AOL, therefore I am in the slow process of transferring to Firefox.
So, thanks for your advice!

High ping on computer one on one connection

Hi there. I have a very strange issue I have never come across before, I am not sure if it is a virus or another problem. Basically the symptons are that my computer has an extremely high ping and low download speed but only on one connection, (I move between locations every day and the other location my computer runs fine) but I know its not my connection as I have other computers that I use throughout the house (including one in the same room as the one that is having the issues) and they all have the standard ping and speed I am used to. I have to clue what the issue is and have ran a Malwarebytes scan with no results, same with AVG. Here is my SysInfo:

Hi, I inadvertently ended up with the trovi browser hijacker on my computer after installing something from dosgamesarchive two days ago. I poked around online, did all the things suggested by malwaretips.com suggested (ran adwcleaner, junkware removal tool, malwarebytes, and hitmanpro) and it still persists in Chrome. I tried going to Microsoft for support--they tried to sell me a program--and HP support didn't help much either. I'm not sure what to do at this point, since flinging my laptop from the rooftop seems like an expensive solution.

Laptop problems.

I have recently been experiencing freeze ups and a pretty slow start up of the computer and any pages or programs that I open. The freeze ups are very close together, such as every 1-2 minutes it freezes on that page and then starts back like nothing happened. I recently was on the computer and it went to a blue screen and then restarted and I believe that's when the freeze ups began, around a month or so ago.
