Please run the following diagnostic scans so I can ascertain the state of your computer.

STEP 1
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) Scan
  • Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (x32) or Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (x64) and save the file to your desktop.
  • Note: Download and run the version compatible with your system (32 or 64-bit). Download both if you're unsure; only one will run.
  • Right-Click FRST.exe or FRST64.exe and select Run as administrator to run the programme.
  • Click Yes to the disclaimer.
  • Ensure the Addition.txt box is checked.
  • Click the Scan button and let the programme run.
  • Upon completion, click OK, then OK on the Addition.txt pop up screen.
  • Two logs (FRST.txt & Addition.txt) will now be open on your desktop. Copy the contents of both logs and paste in your next reply.

STEP 2
TDSSKiller Scan
  • Please download TDSSKiller and save the file to your desktop.
  • Right-Click TDSSKiller.exe and select Run as administrator to run the programme.
  • Click Change parameters. Place a checkmark next to Detect TDLFS file system.
  • Click Start Scan. Do not use the computer during the scan.
  • If objects are found, change the action to skip.
  • Click Continue and close the window.
  • A log will be created and saved to the root directory (usually C:\). Copy the contents of the log and paste in your next reply.

There is no one fix that takes care of all of these.
A couple points:
- Make sure the battery in your keyboard is fresh (if it's wireless)
- If your keyboard and mouse are both wireless, make sure they both have good batteries.
- If they each run off separate dongles, and they are the same brand, try unplugging one dongle at a time and see if it helps or changes.
- there have been some machines (HP), that have had actual hardware problems with the keyboards.

Fixing this online could be unmanageable, or it may need a hardware expert.
It's always possible it's caused by some kind of malware related corruption, but I doubt it.
You could also try going into Control Panel > Keyboard and changing the settings for delay and repeat rate, etc. to see if it helps..
(That is probably what you meant by your "settings", so it's not likely to help).

Hi, Avast just popped up with this out of the blue, see attachment. The file's been sitting unused for years, and with all the scans I ran, Avast never detected it, and now all of a sudden it just detected it out of the blue, not during a scan.

Anyone who could help me would be appreciated!

Hi again,

Media Player Classic - Home Cinema v1.5.2.3456 x64 was not on the list in RevoUninstaller. Can I use CCleaner?

I am assuming that the Registry is merged. It ran smoothly. The programs FRST64.exe and SystemLook are missing.
I cannot find the Fixlog.txt.
Should I download and run FarBar again?
The only log that is left on the computer is the Delfix.txt log I will post that just in case.

Temp ownership problems

Hi,

I am having problems that I believe are the result of the Temp folder having its permissions changed at each start up. This is resulting in Dropbox not being able to open unless I go to local app data and re add my user name to the permissions and give it full control. Each time that I do this I also delete the files in the temp folder and am able to delete all except adb.log.

Thanks for looking into this for me. Here is the SysInfo log:

This is my wife's computer and since I am out of the loop I don't want to mess with LSP entries. I don't know the current protocol but I will post the HJT log here. I'm wondering why I can't find any legitimate removal results on a Google search? Simple fixes such as SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes were unsuccessful.
