Askey;
still a bit disappointed in this computer, it used to run faster and that was before I maxed out my ram. do you think you've done all possible? I used to be able to easily run two browsers in this game I play. They have added more graphics to it so it could be that. If theres anything else you can try, I would appreciate it

Not computer saavy!

Hi. I'm not sure if its malware, nevermind. It's an extension/toolbar add-on, ActiveX control that will not disable. Here is the name "PricceDownuloaadEr" 6MnX.x64.dll Class ID {43613F88-95F1-0380-8066-18699A9EE330}
Folder C:\ProgramData\PricceDownuloaadEr
That's all the info. I have. Thank you and I hope you can help me out soon. :)

IE malfunction, Win 7, missing or corrupt files

I first noticed a problem when Internet Explorer had trouble opening and staying open>saying IE had terminated abnormally>asking if I wanted to restore previous session>ignoring when I answered either Y or N>blinking with a black screen>freezing the cursor>crashing to a blue screen.

I have 2 pgms called Internet Explorer, one in the "Program Files" folder and a second in the "Program Files (x86)" folder. I don’t know if I am supposed to have 2 pgms.

I often have both Chrome and IE open at the same time. Chrome does not seem to have a problem. I can get to Outlook by using Chrome to call up msn.com and then logging in to Outlook on msn.com.

I tried to repair IE, but the “best” I could do was upgrade from IE10 to IE11. The problem didn’t go away. I tried many things, including several MicrosoftFixIt programs. I have since noticed that some updates have failed, some Windows 7 files are missing or corrupt, and a variety of other bad things have happened. Additionally, I am puzzled that some items I thought I had removed show up in the logs below.

Windows 7 – Home Premium v6.1a, Internet Explorer 11. More details in Belarc Advisor.

Some clues:
Code 8004FF80
Code 0x80070057 – Root Cause – RC_Data Store
Code 0x80070643 – cancelled by wizard from MS Download page. Code indicates various IE issues.
FixIt – jumped to IE Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services
Wizard cancelled Microsoft Security Essentials - 4.6.305.0 (KB2965031)
Several efforts led to message “Your system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.” I AM THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR!

I have backed up my personal data. I have removed all questionable programs previously downloaded from the web. Hit and miss, as I looked at the Properties of some (not all) files, I changed them to be compatible with Windows 7. I don’t know where to go from here.

Below are the results and/ATTACHMENTS for TSG Sysinfo, HJT, GMER, and Belarc Advisor. I hope they help.

Please do the following:

Check that the download location is set to the Desktop in whichever browser you will be using to download the tools we use:
How to change the download location in IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
Next

Please download aswMBR.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click aswMBR.exe to start the tool.
  • When asked if you want to download Avast's virus definitions please select Yes.
  • Click Scan
  • Upon completion of the scan, click Save log and save it to your desktop, and post that log in your next reply for review. Note - do NOT attempt any Fix yet.
  • You will also notice another file created on the desktop named MBR.dat. Right click that file and select Send To>Compressed (zipped) file. Attach that zipped file in your next reply as well.
In your next reply, please provide the following:
  • FRST logs.
  • aswMBR log.

Richard

I am not sure it is a virus but i am pretty sure that there is something up to no good, because i was having no problems then all of a sudden one thing would start acting up then another and another. I have run an AV scan and found no threats I have defragged and I now have MBAM installed and it finds 1 PUP- Babylon... that i delete every day yet it returns it has made my browsers crash usually but not always when using flashplayer. it is causing ghosting owhen i move a window or scroll in a window. It is also causing static when i am listening to music(I use grooveshark) no static with wmp but wmp has given me error message a few times when i try to play music which i have never had that happen before just the last two weeks. my cpu usage is maxed w/ just a couple windows going and i am afraid this laptop is gonna crash soon if something doesn't get fixed really soon., I was on here a month ago and i thought i had gotten it running a little better the cpu was a little lower but other than that everything else has kept on happening more and more frequently. It almost seems like someone else is in my computer but IDK how computers work and that is just how i feel, PARANOID and PANICKED! PLEASE HELP!

Hi wbg,

Before I do house keeping should I accept the fix that the ESET scan proposed, even if I could not find a log by the end of the scan, it said it found some malware but I had ticked the box not to fixed as instructed? so what ever it found is still there.

cheers

I recently downloaded a "notepad trick" designed to continually open and close the cd-rom.
I ran it on a computer, and turned the computer off. Usually, this works. But on this computer, when it was turned back on, the computer kept on opening its cd-rom! Right now, the cdrom is stuck open. I have tried unistalled the driver for the cdrom and I have restarted the computer in every imaginable way. Still, none of this works!
Please Help!!!
Here is the code I used (got off internet):

Set oWMP = CreateObject("WMPlayer.OCX.7")
Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection
do
if colCDROMs.Count >= 1 then
For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count - 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
Next
For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count - 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
Next
End If
wscript.sleep 5000

is it possible to have a usb flash drive (that may have had a remote access trojan on it previously) that currently has zero files on it, but hasn't been formatted or erased - just files deleted from the flash drive, to currently have a remote access trojan on it still?

Or would there have to be at least one file/ doc on the flash drive for the remote access trojan to write to?

Not concerned about viruses, just remote access stuff.........

Hi, yes they are the free. Versions

Computer randomly freezes and I have to restart - virus?

Hi,

Whenever I start up my desktop, sometimes I'll get a brief 'hang' where my computer freezes and then normal operation resumes. About 10-30 seconds later, these hangs become more frequent until I am completely stuck. Sometimes my mouse cursor changes its icon. I am not able to use my keyboard either. Nowdays whenever I see the first hang I just restart and after the restart things are usually fine.

I can't think of what changed recently, but whenever I boot-up I'm just browsing the web on Chrome - Reddit/Facebook etc...

Here's the TSG SysInfo:
