Delete any existing version of ComboFix you have sitting on your desktop
Please read and follow all these instructions very carefully
Do not edit or remove any information or user names etc, otherwise we cannot fix the problem. If you insist on editing out anything then I will close the topic & refuse to offer any help.

Download ComboFix from Hereto your Desktop.

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop and run from the desktop and not any other folder on your computer**
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus and anti-malware real-time protection and any script blocking components of them or your firewall before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results" or stop combofix running at all
  • Click on THIS LINK to see instructions on how to temporarily disable many security programs while running combofix. The list does not cover every program. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
  • Remember to re enable the protection again after combofix has finished
--------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Close any open browsers and any other programs you might have running
Double click on renamed combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
If you are using windows XP It might display a pop up saying that "Recovery console is not installed, do you want to install?"
Please select yes & let it download the files it needs to do this. Once the recovery console is installed Combofix will then offer to scan for malware. Select continue or yes.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" for further review

****Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze ****

Note: ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making it the default browser.
Note: Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CDs, floppies and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security.Read HERE why we disable autoruns

Please do not install any new programs or update anything (always allow your antivirus/antispyware to update) unless told to do so while we are fixing your problem. If combofix alerts to a new version and offers to update, please let it. It is essential we always use the latest version.

Please tell us if it has cured the problems or if there are any outstanding issues

*EXTRA NOTES*
  • If Combofix detects any Rootkit/Bootkit activity on your system it will give a warning and prompt for a reboot, you must allow it to do so.
  • If Combofix reboot is due to a rootkit, the screen may stay black for several minutes on reboot, this is normal
  • If after running Combofix you receive any type of warning message about registry key's being listed for deletion when trying to open certain items, reboot the system and this will fix the issue (Those items will not be deleted)

Post the log in next reply please...

Zip Opener Packages Chagrin

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron running on Windows Vista. I inadvertently downloaded Zip opener packages, which downloaded a number of files including mysearchdial. I uninstalled the files, and it seemed to work, accept mysearchdial is still appearing in Firefox and IE. I tried a System Restore, but it didn't remove the files. I also tried running Spybot, Malware Bytes, and AVG with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I have a laptop that is having problems connecting to the internet with wireless. I can connect if I run a cable to my computer but if I try to do it wirelessly, I often can't attach. I also randomly get error messages about the hard drive not being available. The whole computer is slow and when I do get online, windows pop up from time to time.

Windows Update was disabled also. I followed the instructions from a Microsoft knowledge base article to try and enable it and instructions I found at bleepingcomputer.com.

My antivirus program has found a bunch of stuff and fixed some. It said it needed to reboot and when Windows came up, there were some strange errors.

Gamer wouldn't run. I attached a screen print of what it kept doing.

I really appreciate your help!! Thank you!!

Am I being conned?

Hello
I am a senior citizen with Wifi laptop for emails and shopping. I am not a technophobe but not techno savvy either. A while ago my yahoo email was hacked. I rang their support number and was put through to Xevoke who fixed it for £599 with lifetime Firewall and told me I would not have to pay anything again. They rang me last night to say that my IP address has been hacked and rundll virus is slowly stopping my programmes and there is my email activity in Nigeria. They want another £200 to fix it with no further payments for life (again). My view was that if the Firewall has been breached they should be refunding my £599 not asking for more. Am I being unreasonable or am I being conned-I don't know because I don't really understand. Any advice from those who know more than I do greatly appreciated as they implied that my bank account and credit cards could be at risk. This is a big worry for me.
Thank you,

Well I don't know what you have done, but you should never try to install a new antivirus without fully uninstalling the old one first. It looks like you tried to install one without fully removing the old one and that has caused problems. But there are no actual signs of AVG, but there is part of Symantec and bits of Avast

First thing to do is
uninstall Spybot because that will reverse any fixes or prevent any new software being installed
reboot then
run these installers
AVG
http://www.avg.com/gb-en/utilities

Avast
http://www.avast.com/en-gb/uninstall-utility

Symantec
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/uk/...rProfile_en_us

reboot & then run DDS again and post its new log and tell us how the computer is behaving

unresponsive script messages and firefox not responding

Hi guys, It's been awhile and thank you for the birthday greeting. I am having a problem with firefox. It has added a space for an ad at the top of my email page which I don't think is the problem but it is new. The real problem is that I keep getting messages about scripts that are unresponsive and asking me to wait or stop the script. Then firefox doesn't respond. They alternate with each other. I did do a Hijack which I can include. Hope you can help. Thank you.

hi I just got my computer back from my friend for a year and it is acting slow. there is a process called dwm.exe running at 67,000 k. it will not go away. When I downloaded comodo antivirus and fire fox my keyboard locked up. after stopping the dwm.exe process my keyboard was free. I tried restore and back to factory settings but this failed for the keyboard was locked and went into sleep mode I had to restart manually. I was installing a windows up date and when shutting down the computer a blues screen came on and said DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE I think I have a virus can you please help me. I have attached the file logs you asked for. The gmer is 1.53 MB long and will not load.

There are no obvious signs of malware there, but you are using a torrents program & that drastically increases the risk of malware getting on

lick on this link to download : ADWCleaner Click on ONE of the Two Blue Download Now buttons That have a blue arrow beside them and save it to your desktop. Do not click on any links in the top Advert.

See the screenshot where the proper download buttons are highlighted

NOTE: If using Internet Explorer and you get an alert that stops the program downloading click on Tools > Smartscreen Filter > Turn off Smartscreen Filter then click on OK in the box that opens. Then click on the link again.

Close your browser and double click on this icon on your desktop:

You will then see the screen below, click on the Scan button (as indicated), accept any prompts that appear and allow it to run, it may take several minutes to complete, when it is done, you will get a message saying "PENDING" , Ignore that & click on the Clean button, accept any prompts that appear and allow the system to reboot. You will then be presented with the report, Copy & Paste it into your next post.

then

If you do not already have it, Download The 14 day free trial of Malwarebytes PRO, (which will revert to the free version if you decide not to buy it) from here: Malwarebytes Pro. Install the program, run it and let it update. If you already have Malwarebytes launch the program.
  • Select Perform full scan and click on the Scan button. When the scan completes click on Show Results.
  • If the scan does not find any infections the log will appear as soon as it completes, please Copy & Paste it into your next reply.
  • If items are detected it will stay on the Scanner window and you will see Objects detected: 1 (the number may be higher).
  • Click on Show Results and put a check mark next to all the items displayed in the list by clicking on each one in turn <--- very important, then click on Remove Selected.
  • The log will appear, Copy & Paste it into your next post.
  • Click on OK and close the window.

Hi All,

I'm suspecting that my computer has been blocked by Hacker Scam. Everytime I would open my computer the web block comes out and I would have to go to Ctrl+Delete then report error to access network. Could anybody please kindly advise how I can clear and remove this Hacker block permanently in my computer. Thank you very much.

Lots and Lots of Spyware pop ups.
