Greetings, Brand new here, i am decently savvy with computers and i have a problem........ I got a virus weeks ago from a torrent and after malwarebytes etc.., google tips & safemode doings, i thought it was gone. Now, i am getting redirections to theclickcheck.com and random links in firefox, and pops in the bottom right corner that even makes a sound. There is no visible stuff in uninstall a program under windows 7 and avg seems to find a threat every 3 days. Also, i notice there is now 4 instances of iexplore.exe running and 2 of them have *32 after it in the task manager. Sadly i ran 2,000 (LOL!) scanners and fixers before discovering free help like this! but hopefully someone is awesome enough to fix this. First things first. I downloaded and tried step 1: HijackThis ..... it starts to scan and then says "for some reason it can't write to the hosts file .... etc etc, then finishes the scan. Should i continue with the steps or is this the first problem that needs solving
