second of all, do NOT use, nor trust, anything even remotely close to any sort of 'automatic reg cleaner'......they are snake oil, to continue the biblical analogy......of those 3000 viruses that Reg Cure Scan states that you have, 3000 of those are false positives. This is NOT to say that you are not infected; judging from what you said about Firefox running, I'd say something went sideways.

THAT said, I am not qualified to offer malware advice; what I can do is see if I can drum up someone who is. It may take a bit, so be patient. The virus/malware forum is easily the busiest.
