I was trying all afternoon to get rid a host of viruses from a client's machine. I ran all the usual software, including Combofix which seemed to be hampered by these nasty bugs.
The file in question is puilpeb.exe and is located in the documents and settings folder of XP. I Googled and got nothing. There seems to be nothing about this. It won't let me manually delete it and even though Combofix got the others, that one remains.
AND, if I try and boot up in safe mode I get the Blue screen of death. Also, if I go into task manager and try and end it, it just comes back.
Any ideas? I've never been beaten by a virus and this is very disturbing. ;-(
