Get rid of Ninja Loader/Ninja Maintainer

I clicked on one of those phony adobe flash updates thinking it was the real deal and unwittingly installed a bunch of adware on my hp tablet. It runs on windows 8. I'm going to type all the info I think is pertinent thats on the back of the tablet.

HP, stream 7, intel inside, tablet 5709.

So after I installed the "adobe flash" update my tablet had a bunch of unwanted new applications installed such as pepperzip, speedchecker, superoptimizer, ninja loader etc.
They caused the home search bar in all three of my browsers; mozilla, chrome and internet explorer to change. They also caused the tablet to slow down considerably and tons of pop up ads were spawning every 20 seconds or so. The most annoying one being from internet explorer telling me that I had a virus on my computer and had to download whatever program was on that page to get rid of it. What was most annoying about these pop ups were that I couldn't close them so I'd have at least four of these annoying pop ups open at one time and couldn't do anything about it.

So far I've unistalled most of the suspicious programs and removed their extensions from my browser.
The tablet is pretty much back at normal speed and the pop ups don't appear any more. Also the browser's home search bar is back to the default one.

But I can't seem to get rid of Ninja Loader. Whenever I try to uninstall it, it says it's already uninstalled, but I know its not because when I restarted the tablet and went to control panel>programs it still shows within the list of programs.

When I look through my files in documents superoptimizer and ninjaloader still show, when I try to permanently delete them its tells me I can't because Ninjaloader is still open in ninja maintainer and the same with superoptimizer.

I'm not sure what to do at this point, I just want these programs gone.

Cryptoblocker aftermath: decrypting files

Hello,

A few months ago my Windows 8.1 PC was infected with the CryptoBlocker virus. Instead of removing the virus outright, I simply reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled the OS, thinking that whatever files the virus had encrypted were on my machine (nothing I couldn't replace). I was wrong.

I just took a look at my OneDrive contents (after not needing to use it for a while) and saw that all Office documents I had saved now include the .ECC extension. After some digging I discovered that this indicates (no surprise) that the files were encrypted via "Elliptical Curve Cryptography," no doubt by the virus.

Since I am no longer infected with CryptoBlocker, I cannot remove the virus. Is there a way I can remove the encryption? Some of the files are quite important, including the beginning of a manuscript for a novel I am writing. Any assistance gladly welcomed!

I am very tech-savvy and have no problem "getting my hands dirty."

Internet lags out when a browser is opened!? please help!

Hi All

I'm really in desperate need of some help

Whenever I open a browser, be it IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc... the internet immediatley drops through the floor. However, If i have no browser open my upload/download speed is completley normal; I can only assume this is being caused by some type of virus? (there are no extensions or addons in any of the browsers)

All other devices, laptops, phones, etc all work normally, it's just my computer

I have tried every thing I can think off to fix the issue:

- Run antivirus
- run anti-malware
- disabled system restore, run system restore, booted in safe mode, run antivirus/malware
- used netstat to try track down any strange open connections (none could be found)
- wiped the hard drive (restored back to factory)

nothing seems to work! :(

Ive attached a screen shot of a ping request showing the effect before and after opening a browser window.... and below ive paste my computer spec

Please... if anyone can suggest anything else i can try that would be really helpful :)

Thank you in advance :)

Blue and Yellow Shield blocking Google chrome icon??

$

I have recently had some trouble in that the Google Chrome icon on my desktop has had this picture of a blue and yellow shield over it, which is preventing it from running. I say running -- I am able to open the application, but I just get 'loading' with the standard circle going round and round and round in the top left hand corner... Then, after a minute or so, I get the Page(s) Unresponsive message, telling me to kill the chrome application. I spoke to a Microsoft representative who told me to follow some steps to disable user account control settings, however this had no effect. I read on a forum that this could be a malware problem, so I downloaded the free trial of Malwarebytes, only to find that; when this appeared on my desktop, it too had the same blue and yellow shield I mentioned above! These are the only two applications I can see with the shield preventing them from opening.

I'm running on Windows 7.

Any help as to how I can rid of this problem would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

CPU High Usage

Dear All

I have recently upgraded my HP Pavilion G6 laptop from windows 7 home premium to windows 8.1.
Since then I am having some issues with my laptop, when I am on internet explorer and open couple of pages say open 4 different web pages. My laptop stops responding, fan kicks in, and when I look at task manager cpu usage reaches to 52 percent and laptop becomes so slow. But these conditions were never observed while having win 7 premium, I could open up 10 to 20 different pages even then my laptop never become slow or non responsive.

Can someone please help me to solve this issue asap, I am going crazy.

Welcome :)

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Make sure that under Optional Scans, there is a checkmark on Addition.txt.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The tool will also produce another log (Addition.txt ). Please attach this to your reply.

Hello, I need some help with this issue that I've been having for quite a while now and I would really appreciate it.
While I'm surfing on the internet i get redirected to ads. This is happening extremely often, no matter on what I click. I tried several anti-viruses, malware removal programs and rootkit removal programs and neither made this go away. This has been affecting the performance of my computer severly and it's extremely annoying.
I'll post some screenshots of the ads that I get below, any help will be highly appreciated!

AVG "There are no active components"

All AVG components are now turned off and won't urn back on. AVG cannot be uninstalled. This was after a fresh install of Windows Vista. I downloaded a "stand alone" version of AVG from the AVG web site, but it wouldn't install without an Internet connection. I connected the LAN cable and restarted the AVG install. Computer was uprotected while AVG was installing which took a long time. Firefox later had pop up web sites: "Best Buy Electronics" and a few others.

Accidently ran a fake .mp4 file. Anyway to trace it to it's intsallation path?

I should've been more careful and checked the extension of it but here's the story. I was downloading videos from YouTube and once downloaded, I obliviously clicked it. It's had no effect on my PC so far. I'm worried it will have an effect sooner or later.

I'll provide the link to the site (If that's any help) and a few details.

Site of suspected malware: hxxp://www.clipconverter.cc/

PC is custom built

TSG SysInfo Details: OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD A8-6600K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, AMD64 Family 21 Model 19 Stepping 1

Hard Drives: C: Total - 1907371 MB, Free - 1588583 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., A88XM-A
Antivirus: Norton AntiVirus, Updated and Enabled

Is there any way to trace the installation path of this file?

I've tried going to the properties of the fake .mp4 file and denying all the permissions it had. That did not work.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Contagious Virus Problem

I have a very serious computer problem the last couple of months which I can't solve. So the symptom is simple: When surfing the web using Firefox, pop ups appear very often. Every couple minutes the browser is "freezing" in a way that when I click somewhere in the browser instead of doing the action it is supposed to do, it is popping offer.aliexpress add or another add usually of a selected few. Then the browser is released and continue to act as it should.

OK so it is a simple adware, only it is not so simple: The problem occurs on all computers on my network (actually, when all my computers had NOD antivirus it was exactly the same problem on all of them, now, I have one computer with Kaspersky Internet Security and the others have Norton Internet Security. I am having pop ups on my computer having Kaspersy but on the computer having Noton it blocks the pop ups and alerts it blocks an attack from some address... And they say Kaspersky is the best...).

I couldn't get rid of this even though I scanned with all main scanners (Antivirus scan and adware scans). Maybe it will sound weird for you but I figured my best choice is to format all the computers on my network. I did it simultaneously a and didn't use restores but a fresh installations. And I reseted my router. It didn't help.

I want to ask the experts here what might be the problem. Can my router be problematic or you think it is some program on one computer that injects adware that spreads to all my network computers? Maybe the problem is with my ISP???

Thanks for the help which is very needed.....
