Hello all again...
I recently had my com go about:blank for homepage again. Tried to reset through homepage reset.... no good. tried through bitdefender homepage reset... nothing. tried super antispyware.... no good.
Have ie 10 with windows 8 on an ASUS solid state hard drive. I have to manually type homepage destination again... and again. Have looked through all postings here to no avail. Techguy has always been my go to pro's. How do I rid of this crap? Really driving me nuts. where do I star? I realize that this is probably a homepage HJ'ing. tried adaware - also nothing. Most of the posts are like 10 years old except for one which tells me nothing.
Any and all help.
Thanks

Hi,

I don't know which unwanted software has been installed in my PC. I've searched in control panel, uninstalled all unwanted programmes. I've reset my all web browsers. I've also used malware removal tools like adw cleaner, malware cleaner, etc. But all these application failed.
Whether I'm connected with internet or not it simply opens a website after a fixed interval of time. It opens with any of the url which I've used for searching on internet and then redirects to their specific website. It is very very annoying. Anyone please help me get rid of this.

PC Consistently Crashes Minutes After Connecting To Internet!

Hi everyone,

A couple of days ago my PC crashed for no apparent reason producing a white screen with brown vertical lines, when I rebooted it would not reach the log-in screen. After refreshing windows it made it to the log-in screen but had minor red glicthes on certain screens (eg. Pre log-in, Metro section of windows 8). The computer would take longer to boot than usual and would work relatively fine if i didn't connect to the internet, but when i did connect, it would crash within 2 to 10 minutes. I ran Norton full system scan and it picked up nothing. (I managed to re-install Norton before it crashed again). I did a full restore of Windows as a last resort but it would still crash. The crash is more the screen flickers once and a few seconds later completely cuts out than the PC losing power. My PC is only 2 months old and has worked completely fine until now.

Thank You very much for reading and please help ASAP.

Something might be stealing my bandwidth

Hi, I think something might be stealing my bandwidth since I have an average of 5Go bandwidth usage daily. I even go as high as 35Go of usage in a day. The reason I think something might be stealing it is because my online activities shouldn't use that much bandwidth. I play online video games for an average of 5 to 6 hours a day, and so is my sister. I very rarely download torrent but when I do they aren't larger than 10Go. No one else in my house downloads torrent. The only thing my parents do on their computer is chatting on Facebook. I tried looking at previous case similar to mine on the forum but I don't want to start running program and not know what to do with them. Please help, this issue has been going on for more than 6 months. Thank you in advance. Below are my System Info.

Virus attack: Files are encrypted and have '.crypted' extension

Hello,

My computer has been hacked with some kind of encryption virus and most of the files are
encrypted with '.crypted' extension. Could anyone please suggest what needs to be done to remove
the virus. This attack happened after a couple of days of the "dllhost" virus attack, and when my
computer's wi-fi was left on for a couple of hours (dllhost was active and attracting more viruses only when I my internet connection was on). I have taken outside help to remove the "dllhost" virus but unfortunately they were not able to decrypt the files.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

I will be on chrome with a couple tabs open and chrome will just open over the browser that I'm using and continue opening them every couple minutes. I tried uninstalling chrome and reinstalled it and the same thing is happening again. I have superantispyware and malwarebytes running along with microsoft security essentials and also did scans with all 3 and found nothing. This has never happened before and I would like some help trouble shooting why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SVCHOST Runs Over 200k, System Is Slow

Hi, sorry if I'm overreacting but I suspect something is wrong with the PC. SVCHOST has been known to raise to over 400k in the past but usually it sits over 200k and rises during games until they freeze every few minutes, unlike my laptop which runs at 40k~. Games and browsers have slowed down considerably but Norton has not found any infection. I was wondering if you could help me find any problems that have gone unnoticed. Thanks very much in advance.

Black Screen after Login

I have an Acer Aspire laptop with windows 8. When I turn my computer it goes to the login screen normally, but after I login the screen is black/dark grey. I am able to run some things by opening the task manager, but I can't get to windows 8 and some things can't be opened through the task manager. The internet runs fine so I don't know what is causing this problem. If anybody knows how to solve this I would be very appreciative of anything you know or can help with. Thanks!!!

I should of asked this before in my previous post:). I installed SuperAnti Virus and Malware-bytes and they start on startup automatically. Soooo slow!

The problem started about 2 weeks ago. A box popped up while I was playing a game and said I needed to update Flash Player. I clicked on the x in the corner to close it but it actually activated it. I ended up with a couple of programs added to may computer. One was called Weather Alerts and the other was some kind of a 'protection' which had a red shield icon. I found them and uninstalled them. I think they left lots of hidden stuff behind. My computer is sooo slow. It takes forever to go to a sight to read an article or to "look at 28 amazing photos" One of the services that is running that I don't remember seeing before is WdiService 1236

Here's the log you request. I hope someone can help!
